Pestorin Vaccines for Rabbits

Effect method:

Antigens contained in the vaccine administered into the animal body provoke creation of specific antibodies, which then protect the immunized animal against  rabbit haemorhagic disease and  myxomatosis.
Full post-vaccination immunity develops in nine days in case of myxomatosis and in ten days in case of haemorrhagic disease and persists for a period of one year in case of haemorrhagic disease and for a period of six months in case of myxomatosis.

Immunity:

Full immunity  develops againts myxomatosis   9 days and againts pest  2 – 3 weeks after the vaccination, respectively. Animals kept for breeding should be re-vaccinated against myxomatosis in 6-months and and against  pest in 12-months intervals. Considering the disease seasonal incidence, animals should be vaccinated (revaccinated) in time to ensure their full immunity during the whole critical period of infection occurrence.

Indication:

For the preventive immunization of clinically healthy rabbits against rabbit haemorrhagic disease and myxomatosis.

Contraindication:

Ill and cachectic animals. Doe-rabbits should not be vaccinated during the last week of their pregnancy due to the possibility if miscarriage induced by the harsh handling.

Preparation for application:

Shake the content of the vial well before use. Dilute the lyophilizate in the liquid vaccine component; the vaccine shall be applied within 2 hours after dilution.

Dosage:

1 ml regardless of animal  size. The following immunization regimen is recommended: Rabbits should be vaccinated at the age of 10 weeks.
Vaccination can be performed earlier in case of adverse infectious conditions, namely, as follows:
a) Vaccination with the monovalent vaccine against myxomatosis (Myxoren) can be performed at the age of 4 weeks and above followed with the revaccination with the vaccine Pestorin Mormyx that shall be applied not earlier than at the age of 10 weeks. The interval of at least 2 weeks shall be kept between the applications of the vaccines Myxoren and Pestorin Mormyx.
b) Vaccination with the vaccine Pestorin Mormyx can be performed at the age of 6 weeks and above followed by the revaccination performed 4 weeks later.Next revaccinations with the vaccine Pestorin Mormyx is recommended to be performed in 6-month intervals in breeding animals.
Considering the disease seasonal incidence, animals should be vaccinated (re-vaccinated) in time to ensure their full immunity during the whole critical period of infection occurrence.

Storage:

Store in a dry and dark place at the temperature of 2 oC – 8 oC. The vaccine shall not be allowed to freeze!

Withdrawal period:

Rabbits should not be slaughtered for meat for 7 days after the vaccination due to a possible local reaction.

Shelf life:

2 years. Use the vaccine within 2 hours mixing the components!
